June 16 – Today marks an uncommon joining of secular and spiritual celebration – Father’s Day & the feast of the Fathers of the 1st Council (the Council of Nicea). Here in the United States of America, we take time this Sunday to honor our fathers. Coming in all kinds, we express our gratitude to those men who have assumed the responsibility of fatherhood. On the religious front, we commemorate the Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council. Held in the year 325, this council helped the early Church articulate Her faith in the divinity of Christ.
