2 days until February 10, ’24

for this year’s convention is At the End of all Things: Utopias, Dystopias, and the Persistence of Hope. As we approach the big day, we’re excited about the lineup of presentations and events. Too boot, we’re putting together a full array of snacks and food for everyone to enjoy together – we’re rather proud to be one of the only conventions to have a meal together as we explore faith & fandom. We’ve got sandwiches, pinwheel wraps, chips, fruits, continental breakfast (yogurt, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, fruit trays, and pastries), as well as the ever-necessary coffee & fixings. We look forward to breaking open this years theme with you – and breaking bread together between sessions!

How

Membership can (still!) be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets – sales close the morning of the convention (Saturday, February 10). Membership WILL be available to purchase on-site as well – but we recommend getting yours ahead of time!

Where

Doxacon Seattle 2024 will be at the Brightwater Center (22505 State Route 9 SE Woodinville, WA 98072) in Woodinville. While parking at Brightwater Center is generous, we highly recommend carpooling (especially if going to the after-party, where parking is limited).

When

Doxacon Seattle 2024 will officially open at 8:00 am on Saturday, February 10th, 2024. We will be setting up the convention center at 7:00 am – we are always happy for volunteer help! The convention will officially end at 5:30 pm, with cleanup until 6:30 pm.

After the convention, we will be gathering at Zulu’s Board Game Cafe for an optional after-party. This is un-programmed time, meant to be an opportunity for returning and new attendees to (re)connect and enjoy fellowship & food together. If you’re available, we hope you’ll join in the fun!

Health & safety

Following King county recommendations, we are encouraging but not requiring attendees to wear face masks. If you have tested positive for COVID or are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms on the day of the convention, we ask you to stay home – you can request a refund for your membership from info@doxaconseattle.com

Cosplay

We welcome our participants’ creativity and enthusiasm by inviting all to engage in cosplay. Our cosplay policy is simple: If you feel comfortable wearing your cosplay in front of your priest or pastor and the children of your parish, it should be fine and we’d love to see it.

In practical terms, we ask that your cosplay not be revealing, gory, dangerous, or threatening, and that all cosplay demonstrates engagement in community by being mindful of and respectful toward others. If you’re debating with yourself whether parts of your cosplay might be questionable, please err on the side of sensitivity to others!
